The oldest and without a doubt most important cryptocurrency - Bitcoin has seen a rapid increase in value since its introduction in 2008. This has attracted the attention of investors. For those investors who want to participate in Bitcoin's development, but do not want to invest directly in the cryptocurrency, Vontobel's tracker certificate on Bitcoin can be an interesting investment alternative. The certificates are easy to invest in, and due to their design, it is possible to get exposure to Bitcoin even with smaller amounts. In addition, the certificate means that you as an investor do not suffer a loss in the event of hacking attacks and coin theft.

The price development of the oldest cryptocurrency is difficult not to be impressed by. It has been characterized in part by strong movements both upwards and downwards; but the price increases that have taken place in the meantime, such as those observed at the beginning of the year, are impressive. Interest in Bitcoin and the willingness to participate in price development has increased markedly, both among private and institutional investors.

No wallet - no risk of coin theft:

Vontobel continues to act as a depository for the underlying coins in the cryptocurrency. The exchange-traded tracker certificates from Vontobel enable investors to participate in Bitcoin's price development, without having to have access to a Bitcoin platform or "wallet". This provides the advantage that the risk of losing Bitcoin due to hacker attacks, technical problems, improper handling or the failure of Bitcoin storage does not pose a risk to investors in the certificate.

The new Tracker Certificate "TRACK BITCOIN II VON" (ISIN DE000VX0ET22) is issued with the first trading day on 20 August 2021. It will be listed on the Nordic Growth Market Exchange in Sweden (Nordic MTF Sweden) and can be traded directly via your bank or broker. The certificate is denominated and traded in Swedish kronor (SEK).

New Tracker Certificates on Bitcoin

Due to high demand, Vontobel has launched a new tracker certificate on Bitcoin that enables investors to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency. The new certificates have a management fee, currently 3.75% p.a., which is deducted automatically from the certificate daily. With the help of the new cost structure, Vontobel can reflect the current capital requirements that apply to investments in cryptocurrencies.
