Trade of the Week: Oil

Here we will present a weekly trading theme and underlying which @Phukettrader and @LoneWolf discuss further in their podcast.

There has recently been a lot of talk about a “supercycle” in oil and commodities, but this was interrupted with the past week’s happenings from the Suez Canal when one of the world’s most important shipping channels was blocked for almost a whole week. The Brent contract has fallen from its 14 month high at $71 a barrel on 8th March 2021 to almost $60 a barrel on 23rd March 2021. Since the ship has yesterday started moving and was freed, the oil price has also recovered, despite a temporary fall in its price. How do you think the oil price will develop in the coming weeks?

This weeks’ trade has the Brent Crude Oil Future as an underlying and below are products which give you the opportunity to go long or short in the market. The future development depends on several political, industrial and branch specific factors as well as economic factors. The development of the underlying can differ to investor’s expectations and could lead to a loss of capital.

Remember to listen to the podcast which is posted every Tuesday evening to hear more about current financial news and our "Trade of the Week" .
