Two out of the bunch of companies, which are owned by Investor AB, have already published the Q2 results.

Investor AB is a Swedish industrial holding company. Its operations are divided into two principal business segments: Core Investments and Financial Investments. The Core Investments segment is comprised of minority ownerships in global listed companies and includes holdings in the following companies: Atlas Copco, ABB, SEB, AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Electrolux, Saab, NASDAX OMX, Husqvarna and Saab, as well as the Company’s subsidiaries: Molnlycke Health Care, Aleris and Grand Hotel.


Atlas Copco presents figures for Q2

Investor AB holds 16.9 percent ownership capital and disposes of 22.3 percent of the voting rights on Atlas Copco.

The Swedish manufacturer reported sales for the second quarter of SEK 29 billion (USD 3.5 billion), an 18 percent increase YoY. Profit increased 28 percent to SEK 4.1 billion (USD 0.5 billion).

Growth was especially strong in Asia where all the business areas grew significantly. Among segments, the semiconductor industry continued to show robust demand for vacuum solutions, and orders for mining equipment rose significantly from a year earlier due to expansions of existing mines as well as investments to replace aging equipment.


Ericsson remains in red, worse results in Q2 than expected

Investor AB holds 5.9 percent ownership capital and 21.8 percent of voting shares of Ericsson.

The mobile telecom equipment maker reported a larger than expected second-quarter operating loss. Overall, Ericsson presented an operating loss of SEK 1.2 billion (USD 145.3 million), compared with a SEK 2.8 billion profit a year earlier.

Investor AB quotes with a P/E of 3.82 at around SEK 399.10 (July 19th), representing a market capitalization of SEK 304.18 Million. 12 Analysts value the stock with BUY, 2 with HOLD and 0 with SELL. The consensus target price is set at SEK 435.11 . However, the future development remains to be seen.
